The circuit decides the install bill before the sauna does. A plug-in 120V sauna can go almost anywhere; a 240V sauna needs a dedicated circuit and usually an electrician. Check the maker’s electrical spec before you compare prices.

Before you buy: what to check
The specs that decide whether it fits your space, your circuit and your budget.
- Electrical specVoltage, amps and plug type from the manual, not the listing title. It decides whether you need an electrician.
- Heater power (watts)Sets running cost and heat-up time. Our calculator multiplies it by your own rate.
- Indoor or outdoor ratingOutdoor units need weatherproofing and often a GFCI-protected circuit.
- Footprint and ceiling heightMeasure the space, the door and the route in. Freight delivery is often curbside.
- Warranty and returnsWhat’s excluded, who pays return freight, and whether assembled units can come back.
- Recall checkSearch the model on the CPSC recall database before you buy.
