About Recovery Math
An independent, numbers-first guide to home recovery gear: saunas, cold plunges, sleep tech and red light.
Recovery gear is expensive, and most of what decides whether it was the right buy isn’t on the product page: what it costs to run on your electricity rate, whether your house has the right circuit, what the warranty excludes, and what owners complain about a year in.
Recovery Math exists to answer those questions with numbers you can check. We read the spec sheets, manuals and warranty documents, turn them into running-cost and 5-year-cost figures, and show every source.
What we cover
- Home saunas: infrared and traditional, indoor and outdoor, 120V and 240V.
- Cold plunges: chillers, ice tubs and DIY chest-freezer builds.
- Sleep tech: bed cooling systems and their memberships.
- Red light: panels, compared on independent measurements.
What we don’t do
- We don’t hands-on test products unless a page says so. We analyse published specifications, documents and independent measurements, and we say where every number comes from.
- We don’t give health or medical advice. Whether heat, cold or light is right for you is a question for your doctor.
- We don’t sell placement. Brands can’t pay for a ranking, a badge or a verdict.
How we make money
Recovery Math is reader-supported. Some links are affiliate links: if you buy through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. It never changes our numbers. Details: Affiliate disclosure.
