Affiliate disclosure

How Recovery Math makes money, and what that never changes.

Last updated 21 Oct 2026

The short version: Recovery Math is free to read because some of the links on this site, in our videos and in our emails are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, the retailer may pay us a commission. You don’t pay more. Commissions never decide our picks, our numbers or our verdicts.

How it works

When you click a link to a brand or retailer from Recovery Math, a small tracking cookie or link ID tells that retailer you came from us. If you buy within the retailer’s referral window, we may earn a percentage of the sale or a flat fee. The windows vary by program, from a few days to a few months.

We currently work, or may work, with these affiliate networks and programs:

  • Impact (for example Sun Home Saunas, Sunlighten, Redwood Outdoors and other brands on the Impact network)
  • Awin (for example Ice Barrel)
  • Social Snowball (for example Sleepme / Chilipad)
  • Direct brand programs (for example Joovv, Mito Red Light, The Plunge, Eight Sleep)
  • Amazon Associates and Levanta (where noted on the page)

This list changes as programs approve or end. The page you’re reading always carries a disclosure near its first affiliate link.

What commissions never change

  • Our rankings and verdicts. Brands can’t pay for placement, a badge or a better verdict. If the best option for a situation has no affiliate program, we still recommend it and link to it.
  • Our numbers. Costs, specs and calculations come from the sources listed on each page, and they don’t change based on who pays what.
  • What we leave in. Recalls, warranty exclusions and owner complaints stay on the page whether or not we earn from the product.

Free products, sponsorships and discount codes

  • We don’t currently accept free products in exchange for coverage. If that ever changes, the page will say so at the top.
  • If a brand gives us a reader discount code, we label it as a code we may earn from.
  • Sponsored content, if we ever publish any, is labelled “Sponsored” at the top of the page or the start of the video.

Videos, pins and emails

  • YouTube: every video that contains affiliate links says so out loud, and in the first lines of the description.
  • Pinterest: pins that lead to affiliate pages are marked as such.
  • Email: every newsletter with affiliate links includes a short disclosure.
